Donate Resources

A number of materials go into helping an
adult learner improve his or her literacy skills.
The ones we use most frequently are:

Books

Notebooks

Pens and pencils

Highlighters

Note cards

If you would like to make a materials
donation, please drop off your purchased
goods at the front desk of the Cadillac Wexford
Public Library with a designation that the
materials are for the Adult Literacy Council.

Donate Money

As a private, non-profit organization, our funding comes solely from grants, donations, and community contributions.
If you would like to make a financial contribution to the Cadillac Area Adult Literacy Council, click on the “Donate” button below (and put Adult Literacy in the comment field). All donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated!

While no donation amount is too small, here is a look at what a donation can buy:

This amount can buy materials needed to tutor an adult learner for one year.

This amount can pay to send one of our volunteer tutors to higher-level training.

This amount can pay for basic training and materials for one of our volunteer tutors.

This amount can pay for one year of tutoring for one adult learner, including goal setting and evaluations.

This amount can pay for a computer for use by multiple students and tutors.

Donate Time

We know that volunteering is not a one-size-fits-all experience. At the Cadillac Area Literacy Council,
we offer volunteer opportunities designed to fit a
variety of interests and schedules. Contact us to

Tutor

Whether you’re looking to work one-on-one with an adult learner to help them achieve their literacy goals or help facilitate a conversation group, we’ll provide you with the training and resources you need to feel confident in your role no matter your professional background.

Committee Member

Want to be involved without the weekly commitment of tutoring? Join a committee! We have volunteers utilizing their strengths in marketing, grant writing and fundraising, tutor training, GED preparation, ESL program development, and community awareness.

Event Volunteer

Many hands make light work. Our organization doesn’t hold events often, but when we do we can always use extra hands for set up, tear down, and making sure our guests have a quality experience.
